Advantages
Key features
ZA zirconia alumina abrasives and a reinforced resin system for heavy-duty cutting
The ZA zirconia alumina / alumina abrasive blend combines alumina hardness with zirconia alumina toughness, continuously self-sharpening under heavy cutting loads. A resin bond and multiple layers of high-strength fiberglass mesh provide excellent tensile and impact strength for safe high-speed operation. The product complies with EN12413 safety requirements.
2. Efficient special steel cutting with a 1560 mm diameter and 100 m/s peripheral speed
The 1560 mm diameter provides a long cutting stroke for large special steel slabs, billets, bars and irregular sections, improving productivity per cut. The 16.5 mm thickness provides strength and durability for continuous heavy-duty cutting. A maximum peripheral speed of 100 m/s delivers 25% higher cutting efficiency than conventional 80 m/s products, shortening cutting time and lowering overall costs.
3. Hot, warm and cold cutting for different operating conditions
Suitable for hot, warm and cold cutting, this wheel provides stable performance and service life for both in-line cutting of hot billets and cold cutting at ambient temperature, meeting varied requirements in steel mills and forging plants.
A reliable, cost-effective alternative to imported products
Design standards, material selection and manufacturing processes are benchmarked against comparable large cut-off wheels from leading international brands. Key performance measures, including cutting efficiency, service life, safety and value, match or exceed those of imported products, with substantially shorter lead times.

About this product
Product Overview
The 1560x16.5x230 mm wheel is an extra-large, resin-bonded, fiber-reinforced cut-off wheel designed for heavy-duty cutting of special steels, high-temperature alloys and large billets. Its 1560 mm diameter provides a long cutting stroke for cutting large slabs, billets, bars and irregular sections in a single pass. Applications include steelmaking, forging, metal recycling and heavy machinery manufacturing.
The high-performance ZA16WBF formulation combines ZA zirconia alumina / alumina abrasives for self-sharpening and impact resistance, coarse 16# grit for high material removal rates, and a WBF resin bond with fiberglass reinforcement for safe high-speed operation. With a maximum peripheral speed of 100 m/s, it offers much higher cutting efficiency than conventional products and supports hot, warm and cold cutting of large special steel workpieces.

ZA: zirconia alumina / alumina abrasive blend combines self-sharpening and impact resistance for heavy-duty cutting
16: coarse 16# grit provides high material removal rates
WBF: resin bond with fiberglass reinforcement provides excellent high-speed safety
Under heavy cutting loads, ZA abrasives continuously self-sharpen to expose fresh cutting edges. Their toughness is approximately 13-15 times that of brown fused alumina, and their crystal size is only one-twentieth that of conventional alumina, making them particularly suitable for hard materials such as special steels.

Typical Applications
Steelmaking: cutting special steel slabs, billets and bars
Forging: trimming excess material from hot forgings
Metal recycling: cutting large scrap metal
Heavy machinery: cutting large components
Mold manufacturing: cutting large mold steel workpieces
Aerospace: cutting high-temperature alloys and titanium alloys
Usage Recommendations
Equipment: use a large stationary cut-off machine with compatible power and rotational speed. Never exceed the 100 m/s peripheral speed limit.
Installation: check the fit of the 230 mm bore before mounting. Ensure that flanges are clean and flat and that tightening torque meets the machine requirements.
Cutting angle: maintain a 90° perpendicular cut. Avoid lateral loads that may deform or fracture the wheel.
Feed control: apply even, moderate feed pressure. Do not force the wheel, as this can cause overload or breakage. ZA abrasives self-sharpen most effectively and cut most efficiently under appropriate pressure.
Cutting method: select hot, warm or cold cutting to suit the operating conditions. This product supports all three methods.
Cooling and chip removal: maintain effective chip clearance. Where necessary, use coolant to dissipate heat and extend wheel life.
Safety: wear protective goggles, a dust mask, protective gloves and hearing protection. Because of the extra-large wheel diameter, check that the guard is properly installed and keep people clear of the operating area.
