White fused alumina for metallographic preparation of ferrous metals
White fused alumina offers high hardness and good self-sharpening, with relatively low cutting heat. It helps limit severe burning and microstructural changes on the cut face, supporting accurate metallographic analysis. This product is for ferrous metals only; follow the material compatibility guidance when selecting a wheel.
-
Wet cutting with a cooling system is mandatory
This product must be used wet. Flush the cutting zone with coolant to remove heat, minimize the heat-affected layer and prevent overheating-induced phase changes in the specimen surface. Dry cutting is prohibited: it causes excessive wheel wear and specimen burning and invalidates the product quality guarantee.
-
Resin bond and a standard metallographic cutter bore
The resin-bonded wheel has a 32 mm bore, a common interface on Chinese-standard metallographic cutting machines. It fits mainstream specimen cutting machines and is easy to install.

Product details
About this product
Product Overview
These metallographic cut-off wheels are designed for sectioning specimens during metallographic preparation. Available in diameters from 200 to 400 mm, they combine a resin bond with white fused alumina (WA) abrasives and fit a range of domestic and international specimen cutting machines. Suitable ferrous metals include plain carbon steel, alloy structural steel, alloy tool steel, stainless steel, bearing steel and hardened steel.
Intended-use limitation: this product is solely for cutting metallographic specimens as part of material analysis and testing. It is not intended for high-volume industrial stock cutting or cutting structural metal components.

Important Usage Requirements
All of the following conditions must be met to ensure cutting performance and product life:
Requirement and explanation
Wet cutting is mandatory: flush the cutting zone with coolant throughout use. Dry cutting is prohibited.
Coolant: use a dedicated metallographic cutting coolant for optimal results.
Feed control: maintain an even, moderate feed rate. Excessive feed can burn the specimen or cause excessive wheel wear.
Equipment compatibility: confirm a 32 mm spindle interface and ensure the maximum rotational speed does not exceed the wheel's safe limit.
Wear protective goggles, a dust mask and protective gloves. Check the wheel for cracks or damage before installation. After mounting, perform a no-load test and start cutting only after confirming smooth operation.
