Advantages

Key features

  1. Hard, sharp-cutting silicon carbide abrasive

Silicon carbide has high hardness (Mohs 9.0-9.4) and sharp, friable grains for efficient grinding. Service life can be more than 30% longer than conventional sandpaper.

  2. Anti-loading and antistatic treatment

A special antistatic surface coating reduces swarf loading and adhesion during sanding, extending paper life and improving grinding efficiency.

  3. Flexible paper backing for complex profiles

Kraft and latex paper backings combine flexibility and toughness for manual sanding and clamping in pneumatic or electric sanding equipment, following curved and contoured surfaces.

  4. Flexible wet and dry applications

Waterproof products can be used with water to lower grinding-zone temperature, prevent heat discoloration and eliminate airborne sanding dust during wet operation.

  5. A full grit range in multiple formats

Grits from P60 to P3000 can be supplied as sheets, rolls, hook-and-loop discs and self-adhesive discs for different equipment and methods.

Product Types

Silicon carbide sandpaper is divided into two main types by backing material and operating method:

1. Kraft Paper Sandpaper

High-strength kraft paper provides a flexible, tear-resistant and economical backing. Dry and waterproof types are available:

Dry type: a synthetic resin adhesive suits dry sanding in furniture and interior finishing, with easy swarf release.

Waterproof type: special water-resistant treatment enables wet sanding for automotive and hardware applications.

2. Latex Paper Sandpaper

Latex paper provides a soft, flexible, water- and oil-resistant backing for curved surfaces and fine polishing. Available latex contents are 15% and 30%; higher latex content improves water resistance and flexibility.

Storage Recommendations

To maintain product quality during storage, observe the following conditions:

Store in a cool, dry, ventilated warehouse away from direct sunlight. Relative humidity should preferably be ≤60% to prevent moisture-induced deformation and adhesive aging.

Store sheets flat without heavy pressure to avoid creasing or deformation. Hang rolls or store them upright to prevent moisture-induced curling.

Separate and clearly label different grit sizes to prevent mixing. Avoid contact with acids, alkalis, organic solvents and other chemicals.
