About this product

White fused alumina is a premium abrasive made by arc fusion of high-purity alumina powder above 2000℃, followed by cooling and crystallization. It has a trigonal crystal system, a white or gray-white color, high microhardness, moderate toughness and good self-sharpening. Manufactured to FEPA standards, it is available as F grit for bonded abrasives and P grit for coated abrasives. Uniform particle-size distribution, high bulk density and good wettability support applications in bonded and coated abrasives, blasting, precision casting and refractories.

Storage Recommendations

To maintain white fused alumina quality during storage, observe the following conditions:

Store in a cool, dry, ventilated warehouse away from direct sunlight. Relative humidity should preferably be ≤60% to prevent caking and mold on packaging.

Stack bags no more than 10 layers high to prevent packaging damage or grain fracture. Stack bulk bags one or two layers high and ensure stability. Use wooden or plastic pallets to keep products off the ground and protect against moisture.

Keep separate from acids, alkalis, organic solvents and other corrosive substances. Store different grit sizes separately with clear labels to prevent mixing.

Follow first-in, first-out (FIFO) stock rotation to avoid prolonged storage.

Shelf life is 3 years from manufacture under recommended conditions. After this period, retest key properties such as particle-size distribution and bulk density before use.

If packaging is damaged and material leaks, replace the packaging and seal the recovered material. Moisture-caked abrasive may be dried and sieved, but its performance must be retested before use.
